Rhinoplasty

The nose plays a vital role not only in your appearance but also in your quality of life. At Clinique of Plastic Surgery, we understand the importance of this critical feature, and our entire priority is giving you a nose that allows your entire face to appear balanced, symmetrical and beautiful.

Nose Reshaping

Nose surgery, also called Rhinoplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to reshape the inner and/or outer structures of the nose. Reconstructive Surgery is used to correct disfigurement from injury, relieve nasal obstructions, or alleviate breathing difficulties. Cosmetic nose surgery is performed to make the outer appearance of the nose more attractive and may be done in conjunction with internal reconstructive surgery. Nose surgery procedures may involve removing a nasal hump, elevating the tip of the nose, narrowing or shortening the nose, or reducing the size of the nostrils. Modern techniques focus on creating a very natural looking nose by paying close attention. Computer imaging will help immensely in defining a new, attractive nose.

Nose surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. Most work is done through the inside of the nose so that there are no visible scars. Following surgery, the nose is bandaged and the eyes may be black and blue for one week. While nasal humps are often the reason for nose surgery, a full or rounded nasal tip alone can be an indication for a rhinoplasty procedure.

Understanding the Risks of Rhinoplasty ("Nose Job"): Reassurance Through Expertise and Personalized Planning

Rhinoplasty, commonly know as a "nose job," is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic procedures. When entrusted to an experienced surgeon, it carries very few serious medical risks such as significant bleeding or infection.

Most potential concerns are aesthetic in nature—such as over-reduction, an unbalanced nasal profile (like an exaggerated "ski slope" look), an overly upturned tip, or a pinched bridge. These outcomes typically result from insufficient attention to overall facial harmony. Additionally, in revision or multiple surgeries, functional issues like airway restriction or, in rare cases, delayed nasal collapse can occur if structural support is compromised.

To ensure a result that enhances both appearance and function, personalized is key. That's why I consider pre-surgical computer imaging an essential part of your rhinoplasty journey. This advanced tool allows you to preview potential outcomes, ensuring your nose complements your unique facial features while aligning with your exceptions.

We invite you to take the first step with a personalized consultation—either in person or conveniently via FaceTime. For the most comprehensive experience, we recommend an initial visit with computer imaging to visualize your tailored results and discuss how we can safety achieve your aesthetic goals.

Rounded Nasal Tip

Sometimes people will have more cartilage on the tip of their nose than they prefer. This can be improved through a surgical procedure called tip-plasty. This surgery sculpts the cartilage in the nasal tip and can also narrow the nostrils if necessary. Improvements will be seen within 2 weeks but will improve for the next 3-6 months before attaining final results.

The Clinique of Plastic Surgery’s computer imaging software allows the patient and Dr. Drehsen to jointly redesign the features of the nose according to the desired appearance sought. This allows him to demonstrate what is surgically possible prior to surgery.

Mission Statement: Aging Gracefully

For many, an appearance that conveys sadness, fatigue, or unhappiness is an undesirable consequence of aging. These negative facial expressions, often symbolized by common “emoticons,” affect a wide range of individuals, including those experiencing significant weight changes, such as “Ozempic faces,” or those with certain genetic predispositions. Our mission is to eliminate this social stigma through our rejuvenation plan. Our Hybrid RefresherLift combination, now enhanced with the “deep plane” technique, has been shown to significantly improve our patients’ social confidence and comfort. This approach is a core component of our patient education and procedural strategy, helping individuals to age gracefully with a refreshed and positive appearance.
