Perlane

Perlane, which contains lidocaine, is an injectable FDA approved dermal filler that adds lift and volume to help lessen fine lines.

It is a completely safe treatment made of a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.

Perlane helps replenish your body’s depleting supply of hyaluronic acid, which is found in the connective tissues of your body.

This supplements your body’s age-depleted hyaluronic acid to plump up the lip or to raise the skin and ‘fill in’ the particular wrinkle being treated.

Perlane restores your skin’s volume and fullness to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds including the nasolabial folds which are the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth.

The following is a list of areas that we can treat with Perlane:

  • Wrinkles on the face
  • Improving facial depressions
  • Plumping eyebrows
  • Enhancing the lips
  • Defining the cupid’s bow (the curve of the upper lip)
  • Redefining lip border
  • Enhancing volume and defining contours of the cheeks, chin and jaw line
  • Softening the appearance of scars and other depressed facial marks
  • Decrease fine lines around the lips, mouth, nose and forehead
  • Chin and lip augmentation
  • Filling cheek depressions
  • Softening acne scars

The benefits of Perlane treatments are usually noticeable after 10 months. Most injections can be performed within 10 to 20 minutes. After your treatment, you might experience some swelling, redness, pain, and bruising. Perlane should not be used by people with previous bad allergies (particularly to certain microorganisms known as gram positive bacteria), to drugs that have required in-hospital treatment, or in people with bleeding disorders. Perlane should not be injected anywhere except the skin or just under the skin.

Some Warnings To Consider

The use of Perlane in areas with pimples, rashes, skin sores, hives, cysts, or infections should be postponed until completely healed. These conditions can delay healing or make your skin problems worse.

After your Perlane treatment, you may experience skin swelling, redness, discoloration (bruising), tenderness, pain, itching, or small lumps in the area where you are injected. Usually, the majority of these side effects last less than seven days. If any symptom lasts longer than two weeks, you should call your health care provider who administered the Perlane injection.

If you previously have had cold sores, a Perlane injection can cause the them to return. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use Perlane if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. You should not use Perlane. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years of age.

As Perlane is not a permanent solution, repeat injections are required to maintain a wrinkle free face. Most individuals will require a repeat session once a year. The wrinkles will re appear If treatment is stopped.
